The Counselor of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, has described the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, as a "winning tandem" who will fulfill their electoral commitments.

The spokesperson for the Regional Government has argued that both President Isabel Díaz Ayuso and the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, would reach 2027 with "a completely fulfilled service record" after executing their electoral pledges.
Miguel Ángel García Martín, Counselor of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration of the Community of Madrid, described the regional president and the mayor of Madrid on Wednesday as a "winning tandem" for having adhered "to the letter" to their electoral commitments over the past three years. The statements from the spokesperson of the regional Executive come after Almeida confirmed his intention to run again as a candidate for the Mayor's office in the municipal elections of May 2027.
García Martín avoided commenting on Ayuso's continuity as the regional candidate but argued that the president and the mayor could present themselves to the people of Madrid in a year's time with "a completely fulfilled service record." In his view, this way of working allows for commitment to citizens and subsequent fulfillment of announced measures.

"We are adhering strictly to the commitments we ran on in the elections three years ago"

The spokesperson emphasized that this management approach forms the basis for maintaining voter confidence and implementing proposed policies.
The counselor asserted that Madrid is today "a better region," with a higher quality of life, improved public services, and future-oriented planning. He also maintained that the people of Madrid can feel "very proud" of the work done by both Ayuso and Almeida in their respective areas of responsibility.
García Martín's statements are part of the Popular Party's political preparations for the next electoral cycle. Following the PP's victory in Andalusia, which he described as a "magnificent result," he noted that Ayuso asks her team for the usual: "enthusiasm" to face upcoming challenges.
The counselor explained that this "enthusiasm" should be channeled towards managing the best public services and defending the general interest, both of Spaniards and all Madrileños. He stressed that this commitment should guide political action in the coming months.

"What we are going to do is that, put enthusiasm into it and continue managing the best public services so that Madrid remains that best place to invest, to work, to live, to study, in short, to build a life project"
