The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, described Madrid society as a united "army" in defense of its freedom, during the May 2nd celebration at the Real Casa de Correos.

During her speech on the occasion of the Day of the Community of Madrid, the president stated that Madrid society "will not allow itself to be controlled by anything or anyone," and that any attempt to do so will be met with a "dignified and resounding response."
Díaz Ayuso highlighted that Madrid naturally aligns with the unity of the Nation and with societies that yearn to be free, as well as with all individuals who "stand up to terror and arbitrary impositions." She emphasized that the choice of "freedom and prosperity" by citizens makes the region the "economic, political, and social engine of the country."

"Being free from political harassment and sectarianism has allowed Madrid residents to appreciate what works without complexes."

According to the president, this freedom has allowed Madrid residents to value what works without complexes, in a community that "encourages those who prosper" and is open to "learning from prodigious people." She also noted that the region does not waste time with "nationalism or identitarian ideologies," which has contributed to its "best moment."
The president also expressed her concern about the situation in Spain and the "administrative solitude" of the Community of Madrid as the "capital region and gateway to the entire world." She highlighted the region's heterogeneity, being "made up of all ways of being Spanish," and questioned the lost opportunities in the current context.
In this regard, she urged a focus on state projects that reform infrastructure, distribute water equitably, incentivize medical professionals, modernize transportation to connect the country, attract foreign investment, and support self-employed individuals, as well as addressing the family crisis and low birth rates.
