The mental health program 'Pozuelo en Mente', an initiative by the City Council of Pozuelo in collaboration with Quirónsalud Madrid Hospital, is coming to an end with two conferences specifically aimed at the elderly population. The sessions are held at the MIRA Cultural Center at 6:00 PM.
This Wednesday, the head of the Psychiatry Service at Quirónsalud Madrid Hospital, Elena Sanz, will give the talk 'Depression and Anxiety in Seniors'. It will analyze the emotional changes associated with retirement, adaptation to new life stages, and the psychological impact that the loss of loved ones can have.
Subsequently, on June 3rd, Elena Sanz will offer the conference 'Unwanted Loneliness and Emotional Well-being'. This session will focus on the relationship between loneliness and its potential effect on cognitive decline, the onset of depression, and social isolation.
Both talks will highlight the importance of maintaining strong social ties, fostering community participation, and engaging in activities that promote an active and connected lifestyle, key elements for the emotional well-being of seniors.
The 'Pozuelo en Mente' cycle began last April with a conference by psychiatrist Marian Rojas and has also included sessions for young people on anxiety, depression, and eating disorders, held at Quirónsalud Hospital.
