The Government of Spain and Madrid City Council held a multilateral meeting to establish a comprehensive security and welfare plan for the San Blas-Canillejas district, despite the absence of the Community of Madrid.

The meeting, chaired by the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, brought together representatives from the Madrid City Council, the Superior Police Headquarters, and residents of San Blas-Canillejas. The main objective was to address the district's needs, especially those related to the Parque Paraíso area.
During the gathering, the current scenario, existing problems, recent incidents, and future challenges were analyzed. A comprehensive approach was proposed, including actions in health, social, and management areas, complementing the police work already underway. Furthermore, new avenues were explored to strengthen coordination among administrations, security forces, and residents.

"Those who prescribe only police action are profoundly mistaken, as it is a simplistic and irresponsible response. On the contrary, complex problems require multi-competence solutions provided by all administrations."

The Government delegate emphasized the commitment to security and announced police reinforcements in the area. However, he stressed the importance of joint and comprehensive action to improve living conditions and the quality of life for residents. He criticized the simplistic view of those who only propose police solutions for complex problems.

"We know there is a complex situation that manifests as insecurity, but it is the result of failures in the socio-health sphere. Therefore, it is essential that all administrations are able to work together to build consensual solutions that complement, of course, the full commitment to security of the Government of Spain, but also address health, social, sanitation, cleaning, and management."

In addition to the Government delegate, attendees included the head of his Technical Cabinet, the chief of Madrid's Superior Police, the commissioner of the San Blas-Canillejas district, the district councilor-president, the president of the Regional Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Madrid (FRAVM), and representatives from the Neighborhood Platform and the San Blas Assembly.
The delegate requested attendees to prepare reports on the actions each administration is carrying out and those planned, in order to conduct a thorough analysis and schedule a new meeting within a month. He regretted the absence of the Community of Madrid, whose regional Government refused to participate, calling this decision a “mistake”.
