The events occurred on August 19th, around 05:00 AM, in the Villa de Vallecas district. The police intervention began after a report of a public street assault. During the operation, a vehicle with several occupants ignored officers' orders and sped away.
The pursuit extended across major routes of the Madrid road network, including the A-3, M-50, M-31, M-45, and R-3, concluding near Terminal 4 of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.
After the vehicle was intercepted, the driver attempted to flee on foot, while the other two occupants were found inside the car. A safe, apparently forced open, was discovered along with tools, gloves, and an ignition device. The car had been stolen days earlier, and the safe originated from a break-in at a local cafeteria that same night in a Madrid town.
Several police vehicles sustained damage during the intervention. The three arrested men face charges including forceful theft, theft/use of a stolen vehicle, offenses against road safety, document forgery, and property damage. They were subsequently handed over to judicial authorities.
