Singer and actress Paloma San Basilio will receive the Premio Fuente de Castalia 2026 on Friday, June 26th, at the Teatro Salón Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares, as part of the Hispano-American Golden Age Festival.

The award ceremony coincides with the 25th edition of the Hispano-American Golden Age Festival. Clásicos en Alcalá, held in the Madrid municipality. This award recognizes the work of artists and institutions in the recovery of Classical Theatre.
San Basilio, a prominent figure in contemporary Spanish performing arts, will also star in the musical production Dulcinea during the festival. The artist, with a five-decade career, has portrayed iconic characters in musicals such as El hombre de la Mancha, Evita, and My Fair Lady.

"Dulcinea offers the opportunity to discover 'that great actress she has always been and whom her astonishing vocal quality may have perhaps excessively hidden'."

Juan Carlos Rubio · Director of 'Dulcinea'
The Premio Fuente de Castalia, named after a Greek mythological fountain of poetic inspiration, has been previously awarded to figures such as the Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, Rafael Álvarez ‘El Brujo’, and Nuria Espert.
The festival, organized by the Community of Madrid and the Alcalá de Henares City Council, will run from June 12 to July 5, 2026. It will feature nearly 60 performing arts proposals from 16 countries, including premieres and works by classical and contemporary authors.
