The Community of Madrid has organized an extensive program of over 200 free environmental activities for this summer, which will take place on weekends and holidays throughout July, August, and September.

The main objective of these initiatives is to bring the region's rich biodiversity closer to citizens and promote its conservation. The offerings include a variety of formats such as workshops, guided tours, games, talks, and immersive experiences in natural settings.
Activities will be held in various locations across the region, utilizing the nine regional Environmental Education Centers and several protected natural spaces. Advance registration is required to participate in any of the events.
Among this year's new features is the ‘Por el Bosque Vivo’ program, an environmental volunteering initiative scheduled for July 18th at the Finca Caserío de Henares. In collaboration with WWF Madrid, this project aims to involve participants in the preservation of the riverside forests along the Henares and Jarama rivers, within the Southeast Regional Park.
Another new addition is the “pet-friendly” option, which will allow people to attend with their dogs, subject to certain safety conditions. This feature will debut with a guided tour of the Arboreto Luis Ceballos on July 4th.
The program is designed for all audiences, ranging from sensory workshops for babies in Polvoranca to educational tours about amphibians in Chapinería. Interpretive routes will also be offered in locations such as the Hayedo de Montejo or the Lozoya Valley, along with participatory gardens and guided walks for adults focused on sustainable agriculture and rural environment knowledge.
The region's Environmental Education Centers and the spaces within the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park will be the main venues for this summer programming, which seeks to combine leisure, environmental education, and ecological awareness.
