Eight people were injured this Sunday following a spectacular traffic accident on Madrid's Calle Alcalá, involving a VTC, a private car, and a police patrol vehicle.

A spectacular traffic accident registered this Sunday at the intersection of Calle Alcalá and Miguel Yuste, in Madrid's San Blas district, has resulted in eight injured individuals. The incident involved a VTC vehicle, a private car, and a National Police patrol car.
The event, which occurred around 4:30 PM, required the intervention of the Madrid City Council Firefighters, who had to rescue the driver of the private car, trapped inside. They subsequently secured the other vehicles involved in the collision.
Samur-Civil Protection paramedics attended to the eight affected individuals at the scene and transported them to various hospitals in the capital. The driver of the private car was evacuated to La Paz Hospital in a potentially serious condition, with a suspected hip fracture.

The two National Police officers involved suffered minor contusions and were taken to Infanta Leonor Hospital. The VTC driver was admitted to Ramón y Cajal Hospital with a thoracic contusion, shoulder trauma, and leg injuries. The other four occupants of the VTC were taken to La Princesa Hospital with minor injuries.
The Madrid Municipal Police has launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
