Madrid Metro will intensify service on lines 2 and 4 this Monday with 15 percent more trains for the Spanish National Team's debut in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the match viewable at the Plaza de Colón Fan Zone.

To mark the Spanish National Team's first World Cup match, which will be broadcast live from the Fan Zone set up in Plaza de Colón, Madrid's subway system has decided to enhance its service. The national squad will face Cabo Verde starting at 6:00 PM.
The increase in train circulation will begin progressively from 5:00 PM, coinciding with the arrival of attendees. The reinforcement will be particularly significant at the end of the match, between approximately 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM, aiming to accommodate the expected high traveler demand.
In addition to increased frequencies, Metro de Madrid will enhance staff presence and implement specific signage at the Colón station. These measures are intended to guide users and streamline access to the Fan Zone prepared for supporters.
As part of initiatives to celebrate the tournament, the company has launched a special themed train featuring the Spanish team's colors and images of some of its prominent players. This train, designed by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, will run on line 4 throughout the World Cup to bring the tournament's atmosphere to users.
