The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded a contract worth 796,418.85 euros for the improvement of acoustic barriers on the A-6 motorway, specifically in the section between kilometers 12.600 and 13, within the Moncloa-Aravaca district of Madrid.

This action, which was put out to tender last October, aims to complement the existing barriers in the area. Currently, the section has 340 linear meters of screens installed on the right margin of the A-6, with heights ranging from 2 to 4.80 meters. However, it has been determined that these are not sufficient to effectively mitigate noise impact.
The new project includes the installation of an additional 183.12 linear meters of screens, which will have heights between 4 and 6 meters. These new structures will combine metallic and methacrylate elements, and will incorporate an anti-graffiti treatment from the factory to improve their aesthetics and durability.

"This operation will allow a significant reduction in noise pollution, improving the well-being of citizens and demonstrating the administration's commitment to creating healthier and more sustainable urban environments."

The initiative is part of the conservation and maintenance program for the State Road Network. Since June 2018, the Ministry has allocated 847.16 million euros to this program in the Community of Madrid, representing a considerable boost to the improvement of state road infrastructure.
