The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has approved a labor agreement for the region's 350 forest agents, which includes salary improvements and new working conditions until 2029. This pact, negotiated between the Community of Madrid and unions, also incorporates the 90 professionals who joined the corps in May.
One of the most notable novelties is the creation of a pool for 24-hour voluntary patrols, designed to cover unforeseen events and reinforce the deployment during high-risk periods, such as the high-danger phase of the INFOMA plan against forest fires. These patrols will be paid, serving as an economic incentive.
The agreement also clearly defines the situations in which agents can be mobilized, such as the activation of an Advanced Command Post or a Civil Protection Plan. Furthermore, the possibility of extending the workday in specific circumstances is contemplated, such as searching for lost persons, intervening in fires, controlling spills, or acting against dangerous animals.
Regarding remuneration, the pact includes a salary increase for the entire corps. Support for cases of illness or advanced age is also strengthened, with its own regulation. Additionally, the door is opened for participation in special projects and groups, promoting the specialization of the agents.
With these improvements, the Forest Agents Corps faces its busiest season with a renewed labor framework, aiming to optimize emergency response and enhance the conditions of its professionals.
