The municipal group Más Madrid has presented an urgent motion for the Chamberí district's Plenary session, demanding immediate intervention at the Vallehermoso Children's School due to an insect infestation.

The municipal group Más Madrid in the City Council has announced the presentation of an urgent motion for the upcoming Plenary session of the Chamberí district. The objective is to demand immediate intervention at the Vallehermoso Children's School, located at Fernández de los Ríos street, 42. The political party is responding to complaints from families and the center's management regarding the presence of insects on the premises.
The councilor for Más Madrid, Sara Ladra, has reported that the educational community at the center has been requesting a definitive solution to the sanitation problem from the Education Department of the Community of Madrid since last February. According to affected families, cockroaches have been detected in various areas of the school, including common spaces and areas near food handling, raising concerns about the health and safety of the children aged 0 to 3 attending the center.
The opposition denounces an alleged lack of effective response from the competent administrations and points out that the actions taken to date have not been sufficient to eradicate the source of the infestation.
In light of this situation, Más Madrid requests that the Madrid City Council formally urge the Community of Madrid—the owner of the property—to carry out a series of priority actions: comprehensive disinfection and pest control, repair work to address humidity and structural deficiencies, and preventive maintenance. The municipal group maintains that these measures are essential to guarantee adequate hygiene conditions in an educational center of this nature. The debate on this motion will take place this afternoon in the Chamberí district's Plenary session.
