The World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, scheduled for this Sunday at 9:00 PM, will transform Madrid and over thirty municipalities in the Community of Madrid into large open-air stadiums. Squares, parks, sports venues, and shopping centers will become improvised 'fan zones' to host thousands of fans.
The main meeting point will be Plaza de Colón, which will enhance its setup with a second giant screen facing Génova street. An attendance of up to 20,000 people is expected in this area, adding to the approximately 6,000 who can watch the match from the screen provided by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Access will be free until full capacity is reached.
Security will be a priority, with over 250 Municipal Police officers monitoring the event and two advanced medical posts from Samur-Civil Protection. Another major alternative will be Madrid Río, at the Puente del Rey esplanade, which will feature two giant screens with a capacity for 15,000 people and a security detail of around 40 municipal officers and a medical post.
The Movistar Arena will host a broadcast inside the venue, with doors opening at 7:30 PM. It will feature a main screen measuring 16x9 meters, supported by ten other screens distributed throughout the pavilion. The 15,000 free tickets available were previously sold out.
Other leisure spaces such as Parque Warner Madrid, the Nassica shopping center in Getafe, and Oasiz Madrid in Torrejón de Ardoz will also offer the broadcast. The Teatro Magno in central Madrid will organize a party with free entry upon prior reservation.
Numerous municipalities in the north and the Henares Corridor will join the celebration. Locations such as Alcobendas, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Colmenar Viejo, Tres Cantos, Paracuellos de Jarama, Alcalá de Henares, and Coslada will set up screens in their squares and fairgrounds.
The southern area will also experience the football festival with spaces in Móstoles, Alcorcón, Fuenlabrada, Leganés, Getafe, Parla, Pinto, Valdemoro, and Arroyomolinos, notably the main squares of Leganés and Getafe. Municipalities like Majadahonda and Las Rozas will also have giant screens.
The Madrid City Council has prepared an extensive security and emergency plan with nearly 300 Municipal Police officers and several advanced medical posts from Samur-Civil Protection to ensure the event's smooth running.
