Madrid Adorns Itself for San Isidro 2026 Festivities with Diverse Program

The capital prepares for eleven days of free celebrations combining tradition, music, and activities for all ages across multiple venues.

The city of Madrid is gearing up to celebrate its patron saint festivities of San Isidro 2026, offering an extensive free program that includes concerts, children's activities, street parties, and traditional events from May 7 to 17.

The festivities will take place across various iconic locations in the capital, such as the Pradera de San Isidro, Las Vistillas, Plaza Mayor, Matadero Madrid, Lavapiés, and Puerta del Sol. The agenda is designed to attract all audiences, blending traditional Madrilenian essence with contemporary musical proposals.
The kick-off will be on Thursday, May 7 at 8:00 PM in the Plaza de la Villa with the inaugural proclamation and a parade of giants and big-heads. The following days will be packed with musical performances at the Pradera de San Isidro, featuring artists like María la Flamenca, Socio Ejecutor, and Serko on Friday 8, and David Otero and Interferencias on Saturday 9.
On Sunday, May 10, Lavapiés will host the Fiesta de los Mayos de Madrid, while the Pradera de San Isidro will offer magic shows and concerts by Manuel Malou and Demarco Flamenco. The program will continue throughout the week with various family activities and musical performances on different stages.
On Thursday, May 14, the Plaza Mayor will celebrate LOS40's anniversary, and Matadero Madrid will host a street party with the Orquesta Nuevo Versalles. Friday, May 15, San Isidro's Day, will feature religious acts at the Real Colegiata de San Isidro, an open-air mass at the Pradera, and a tasting of Madrilenian stew at Plaza Fuente del Trébol. The night will culminate with performances by Las Ketchup and Los Chunguitos y Familia at the Pradera, and a fireworks display.
The final weekend of the festivities, Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 of May, will include the Festival de Danzas Madrileñas in the Plaza Mayor, concerts by La Bien Querida, Fangoria, and Baiuca, and a tribute to San Isidro by the Casas Regionales. The celebrations will conclude on Sunday 17 with more music and a closing fireworks display.
