The Community of Madrid has approved a pioneering law recognizing the unborn child as a member of the family unit, effective after its publication in the BOCM.

As of Saturday, the law grants this consideration generally, making Madrid the first autonomous community in Spain to do so.
The regulation allows for an accredited pregnancy to be considered for aid dependent on income or family composition. This includes Baccalaureate scholarships, aid for the first cycle of Early Childhood Education in private centers, school meals, transport passes, and rental assistance for young people.
Additionally, families with two children expecting a third will be eligible for benefits associated with the large family title from the 14th week of gestation.
In the fiscal sphere, the law introduces measures such as regional deductions in personal income tax (IRPF) for school expenses, exemption from certain fees, and bonuses for the purchase of second-hand housing.
