The operation, designed to cover both Sunday and Monday, was finalized during a meeting at the Government Delegation. Attendees included representatives from the National Police, Civil Guard, Municipal Police, as well as emergency services, public transport operators, and sports organizations.
The plan includes specific measures for Sunday, July 19, and potential celebrations on Monday, July 20. Planned activities involve setting up a stage at Plaza de Cibeles, official receptions, and parades through the city center. These events will lead to traffic restrictions, bus route diversions, and service adjustments at Metro and Renfe stations.
The National Police will deploy over 500 officers around Cibeles, supported by specialized units, aerial assets, and drones. Meanwhile, the Civil Guard will involve 250 agents, with a focus on Barajas Airport for the team's arrival. Additionally, the Madrid City Council has been asked to provide details regarding the giant screen to be installed at Plaza de Colón to refine security protocols in the area.
