The Community of Madrid is launching 'What Nobody Tells You', a pioneering program for psychological and emotional support aimed at families newly confronting disability.

The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has authorized the launch of this pilot project, which seeks to offer care and support to families facing disability in their immediate environment. The initiative, to be developed in collaboration with the Pegasus Foundation, will run for one year, from May 2026 to May 2027.
A total of 60 families, users of centers within the regional Administration's public network for people with disabilities, will participate in this free and personalized service. The aim is to transform how families experience disability and its emotional impact, with a special focus on the well-being of caregivers, whose quality of life directly affects that of the person with the disability.
The Pegasus Foundation, established in 2017, is dedicated to improving the understanding and support of difference and disability in society. It currently has 50 professionals who assist over 800 families annually, identifying and addressing unmet needs.
'What Nobody Tells You' is part of the new Madrid Strategy for Attention to People with Disabilities Horizon 2028. This strategy includes a significant investment of 4,800 million euros, distributed across 316 cross-cutting measures involving all regional government departments.
