The cultural and leisure offering of the Community of Madrid is enriched with a new proposal designed for lovers of history and charming places. Thanks to collaboration with local tourism professionals, 470 guided tours have been scheduled to take place during 2026 and 2027. This initiative seeks to highlight lesser-known aspects of the capital and various Madrid municipalities.
The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Sport has invested over 200,000 euros to make this project possible, which materializes into 14 distinct tourist itineraries. These routes go beyond monumental walks and include experiences such as local product tastings, visits to unique spaces, and historical theatrical performances.
The program places special emphasis on boosting tourism in the municipalities, taking participants beyond the capital's usual circuits. Notably, the town of Navalcarnero features tours focused on its urban art, vineyards, and traditional wineries, ideal for combining history and wine culture in a rural setting.
Other included locations are Alcalá de Henares, Aranjuez, and Colmenar de Oreja, which will offer itineraries focused on their architectural and cultural heritage, allowing attendees to delve into the history of these municipalities.
For those who prefer to explore the city, urban routes focus on Madrid's green spaces and riverine environments, such as Casa de Campo, Retiro Park, and Madrid Río. These walks aim to balance artistic beauty, contact with nature, and Madrid's traditions.
Fans of mystery and urban legends will find specific itineraries exploring the more enigmatic side of old Madrid, including historical crimes and popular tales. As a perfect counterpoint, the program also includes visits to historic taverns and centuries-old shops that preserve the most authentic and traditional flavor of Madrid life.
Guided tours will be held from Wednesday to Sunday, officially starting next Friday, June 5th. Each group will be limited to a maximum of 20 participants to ensure the quality of the experience.
The prices are accessible: urban tours within the city of Madrid will cost 10 euros, while excursions in other municipalities of the region will be priced at 20 euros.
The Professional Association of Tourist Guides (APIT) will manage bookings through a specialized technical office and an online reservation platform, where schedules can be consulted and tickets securely purchased.
