The Danza a Escena circuit, promoted by the General Directorate of Performing Arts and Music and the Spanish Network of Theaters, will offer 124 performances by 28 companies in Madrid and nine other autonomous communities between April 9 and December 26.

The seventeenth edition of Danza a Escena aims to promote the presence of movement arts throughout the national territory. The program, running from April 9 to December 26, includes a varied offer with contemporary dance, flamenco, family-friendly proposals, and hybrid formats.
Among the autonomous communities that will host this circuit are Galicia, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Basque Country, Castilla y León, Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Asturias, Murcia, and, of course, Madrid. The initiative is developed by the Spanish Network of Public Theaters, Auditoriums, Circuits, and Festivals.
Modern and contemporary dance will play a prominent role with works such as Es Aquí, by Daniel Abreu, National Dance Award 2014, and Afines, by Marcat Dance. Also featured are Lana, by OSA + MUJIKA, and Lo que ocurre en un instante, by choreographer Jesús Benzal, a piece that, according to the organization, reflects on "the irreversibility of now".

The circuit will also explore the relationship between tradition and contemporaneity with productions such as Fandango Reloaded, by Inka Romaní, and , by the Galician company Elahood, which addresses the gesture of negation as a political act and an affirmation of identity. For children and family audiences, ¿Dónde está Alicia?, by Marea Danza, and , by Escena Miriñaque, which combines dance and theater in a magical realism setting, have been programmed.
In the field of Spanish dance and contemporary flamenco, Danza a Escena will include Atlas de anatomía, by Paula Quintana, focusing on the female body, and Alter Ego, by Alfonso Losa and Patricia Guerrero. The offering is completed with new avant-garde shows and short pieces such as Opus, by La Taimada, and Baunsbak, by Elvi Balboa, providing a wide variety of scenic languages.
Since its creation in 2010, Danza a Escena has programmed nearly 350 shows in about 500 venues, totaling around 1,800 performances and over 370,000 spectators. The DGAEM and the Spanish Network of Theaters emphasize that the circuit has consolidated itself as a fundamental program for boosting the dance sector in Spain.
