The Community of Madrid will allocate 1.5 million euros to the sixth edition of the Foreign Trade Technicians program, featuring specialized training and paid internships in international trade offices.

The initiative aims to train young people from Madrid to advise international companies interested in the region and promote its fiscal and regulatory advantages. The Governing Council has approved this investment, developed by the Consejería de Economía, Hacienda y Empleo in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid.
Since its launch in 2021, the program has become a key tool for international prospecting, market analysis, and identifying business opportunities, strengthening the region's position as a business destination. The technicians act as ambassadors for Madrid, highlighting its competitive advantages such as the absence of regional taxes and flexible commercial hours.
The training includes 300 hours of theoretical classes in international trade and digitalization, and prepares participants to boost exports for Madrid-based companies, which reached 53.253 billion euros in 2025. Upon completion of this phase, they receive a dual degree from the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid and the Higher Institute of Law and Economics.
The top-performing students gain access to 12-month paid internships within the Network of Economic and Commercial Offices and Spanish Official Chambers of Commerce Abroad. Destinations such as Berlin, New York, Sao Paulo, Tunis, Dubai, Beijing, and Kuala Lumpur allow them to gain experience in strategic markets.
Since 2021, the Community of Madrid has invested a total of 7.5 million euros in its previous five editions, training 200 foreign trade technicians. Of these, 86 have completed their international internships, and another 24 are currently undertaking them.
