The selection process, launched last June, has ended with no vacant positions remaining. In total, 1,756 posts have been distributed across nine specialities within the teaching body.
The specialities with the highest number of positions are Special Educational Needs (427) and Early Childhood Education (378). These are followed by Foreign Language English with 317, Hearing and Language with 201, Physical Education with 172, Primary Education with 164, Music with 92, and finally French and German with 3 and 2 positions respectively.
To evaluate all applicants, over 2,100 teachers were mobilized, forming part of the 422 examination panels spread across 67 different venues within the region's five territorial area directorates.
Applicant participation was notably high, with 18,543 candidates taking the tests, representing a 91.8% attendance rate. This significant percentage underscores the strong interest in joining Madrid's public education system.
Following the exam approval, successful candidates must complete a practical training period lasting a full school year, which will commence on September 1, 2026.
Concurrently, the process for Secondary Education teachers is also progressing favorably, with nearly 22,000 assignments made, practically covering all available vacancies for this educational stage. Regarding Primary Education, lists of selected candidates and interim staff have been published, aiding in the planning of future position allocations.
