This Wednesday, the Teatros del Canal become the epicenter of the International Dance Day celebration, with a day full of free activities. The program includes guided tours, open rehearsals, and various choreographic showcases, aiming to bring this artistic discipline closer to all citizens.
The Centro Coreográfico Canal has organized two guided tour sessions that will allow attendees to witness open rehearsals and get a close look at the creative process behind several pieces. Among the highlighted proposals are 'El Páramo' (Fata Morgana), by the ANIMA company, and 'Bailar', by the Compañía Gabriel Matías, with the objective of showcasing the scenic work from its initial stages.
The Ballet Español de la Comunidad de Madrid also actively participates with a double proposal. At 7:30 PM, it will present a showcase of choreographic works created by its own dancers in the Sala de Cristal. Additionally, it will offer 'Mujeres lorquianas', with choreography by Mónica Fernández, at the Galería de las Colecciones Reales, with free admission until full capacity is reached.
“"The Community of Madrid maintains its commitment to the dance sector through direct aid, stable programming, and an extensive network of festivals and public spaces."
Dance will continue to be a protagonist in the coming months. The Teatros del Canal will offer two shows with a 25% discount on the first hundred tickets. On April 29 and 30, the Taiat Dansa company will present 'Las hijas de Bernarda', a work that addresses the universe of 'La casa de Bernarda Alba' through contemporary dance, following its premiere at the Dansa València festival.
Subsequently, the Sol Picó company will premiere 'La Cordero y su ejército' from May 20 to 23 in the Sala Verde. This proposal explores the idea of the end as a starting point for transformation, placing vulnerability at the center of the scenic development.
