This special operation, which also includes personnel from the Fire Department, aims to guarantee normalcy throughout the scheduled activities. The Deputy Mayor of Madrid and delegate for Security and Emergencies, highlighted that the deployment will focus on key areas such as the park and Pradera de San Isidro in Carabanchel, as well as Las Vistillas park in Centro, while also covering other festive locations like Plaza Mayor and Matadero Madrid.
The operation commenced this Thursday with the opening speech in Plaza de la Villa and will continue until May 17. The festive program officially begins on Friday, with special security reinforcements during weekends and on May 15, San Isidro's Day, when a larger public attendance is expected.
“"The operation will focus especially on the area around the park and Pradera de San Isidro (Carabanchel), as well as Las Vistillas park (Centro), with attention also to other spaces where festive activities take place, such as Plaza Mayor and Matadero Madrid."
A significant portion of the municipal agents will be deployed in the Pradera de San Isidro and Las Vistillas, also covering religious events, children's activities, and other unique events outside these venues. Officers will operate both in uniform and plain clothes to prevent thefts and altercations. Units from various police stations, including Centro Norte, Centro Sur, and Carabanchel, along with the Central Security Station, Diversity Management, Environment, Cavalry, the Canine Section, and the drone unit, will participate.
SAMUR will set up an advanced medical post daily in the Pradera de San Isidro and will deploy advanced and basic life support ambulances, first response units, on-foot teams, sanitized bicycles, and preventive units, adjusted to daily attendance. Healthcare services will also be present in Las Vistillas, Plaza Mayor, and Matadero Madrid, covering the solemn mass and procession on the 15th with central reinforcement and logistical support vehicles. Meanwhile, Madrid Firefighters will daily inspect the safety of the park area and its accesses, checking hydrants and maintaining standby teams for the fireworks displays on the 15th and 17th.
