The resolution published in the Official Regional Gazette (BOCM) details the beneficiaries, whose communication to families coincides with the start of classes. Around 40% of these grants will go to families who already received them in the 2026/27 academic year and continue to meet the requirements.
These grants are aimed at students in Early Childhood Education, Primary, and Compulsory Secondary Education in publicly funded schools. The main requirement is a family per capita income not exceeding 8,400 euros annually. For the second consecutive year, they have been extended to members of the Armed Forces stationed in the region and to large families with a per capita income of up to 10,000 euros.
To further streamline processing, applicants only needed to submit a request with their basic information and express permission for the regional administration to verify the required data, along with specific documentation in certain cases.
The Consejería de Educación, Ciencia y Universidades will open a second call for applications in the coming weeks. This will allow access to school dining halls for minors in unfavorable economic or social situations, maintaining the same requirements. It will be open to students who joined the educational system after the start of classes or those excluded due to errors in their application, lack of documentation, or late submission. Beneficiaries of this second procedure will receive the grant amount retroactively from the beginning of the academic year.
