The Community of Madrid has approved an allocation of 67.3 million euros for the 2026/27 academic year, designated for Early Childhood Education scholarships that will benefit approximately 34,000 children up to 3 years old enrolled in private centers.

The Governing Council has given its approval to the funding for this call, with the application period set to open soon after its publication in the regional Official Gazette. This measure aims to support families in enrolling their children in the first educational stage.
The aid is intended for children born, or expected to be born, before January 1, 2027, who are enrolled or have a reserved place for the 2026/27 academic year in an authorized private center. The annual scholarship amounts will range between 1,947 and 3,113 euros, depending on the family's income.
In the scoring process, 7 points will be awarded to applications where both parents work full-time, or in cases of a single parent under the same circumstances, or if one parent works full-time and the other has a certified permanent disability preventing them from caring for the minor. If the employment is part-time, these situations will receive 5 points.
Additionally, criteria such as being a large family, having parents or children with disabilities will be considered, and access will be facilitated for victims of violence against women. Exceptionally, children over 3 years old with special educational needs certified by the Early Care Team may also apply for these scholarships. Aid granted in the 2025/26 academic year may be extended if beneficiaries request it and continue to meet the eligibility requirements.
Since 2019, schooling in the first stage of Early Childhood Education has been free in the public network of Early Childhood Education centers in the Community of Madrid. With this call for aid, the regional Government reinforces families' freedom of choice, promotes work-life balance, and fosters equal opportunities, which are fundamental pillars of Madrid's educational system quality.
