The Madrid City Council has reserved a credit of up to 23.3 million euros this year for the seven lines of the Cambia 360 Aid program. This municipal strategy aims to foster sustainable mobility and energy efficiency, contributing to the reduction of pollutant emissions in the capital.
To date, six of the seven calls for applications planned for this year have been launched, including aid for private vehicles, replacement of boilers with efficient systems, taxis, micro-mobility, urban goods distribution, and charging infrastructure. From today until June 18, applications are open for subsidies aimed at scrapping polluting buses, a measure maintained for the second consecutive year.
In total, the Madrid municipality will allocate 9.7 million euros this fiscal year to the Cambia 360 Aid program, with the possibility of an increase up to the aforementioned 23.3 million euros. Subsidies for scrapping buses and coaches classified as environmental category A have a credit of up to 300,000 euros. Owners of these vehicles can receive up to 12,000 euros, provided they meet the requirement of paying the Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax in Madrid since January 1, 2022.
The Cambia 360 Aid program has established itself as a fundamental tool for encouraging citizens to embrace a shift towards sustainability in various areas. This contributes to complying, for the fourth consecutive year, with the European air quality directive and continuing to reduce nitrogen dioxide levels in 2026. Since 2020, the City Council has allocated a total of 140.8 million euros to these subsidies.
