The regional administration has launched a detailed plan to ensure the proper conduct of the electoral day, covering everything from material distribution to instant tracking of official results. The Governing Council has received a report on the technical assistance required for the entire process.
The Real Casa de Correos, headquarters of the regional Government, will host the Data Processing Center. From here, information from all polling stations in the region will be managed, and IT support will be provided to the Provincial Electoral Board.
To execute this operation, a contract worth 3.6 million euros will be put out to tender this week. In parallel, a Logistics Center will be established in La Garena, Alcalá de Henares, responsible for sorting and distributing all electoral materials, including ballots, envelopes, ballot boxes, and voting booths.
Approximately 120 million ballots are planned for printing, plus an additional 21 million for postal voting, for both residents abroad and those temporarily outside Spain. The regional executive will also process the contracting for the supply and distribution of this documentation.
The operation will be complemented by additional services such as transportation for poll workers in Madrid, accessible voting kits for people with disabilities, and a sign language interpreter service.
Puerta del Sol will be a key information hub, featuring large outdoor screens for citizens to follow real-time results. Additionally, a mobile application integrated into the Cuenta Digital platform will be launched to facilitate access to centralized and secure electoral information.
Enhanced cybersecurity measures will be implemented to protect the electoral process infrastructure, ensuring the integrity, availability, and security of all information systems and the reliability of the results.
