Madrid Hosts DigitalES Summit: AI, Cybersecurity, and Digital Sovereignty

The ninth edition of the event will gather 900 attendees and 60 speakers to discuss Europe's digital transformation challenges.

The Spanish capital will host the ninth edition of the DigitalES Summit on June 24 and 25, an event bringing together technology experts to address digital transformation challenges.

The Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid is hosting this week the ‘DigitalES Summit’, an annual key event for the technology sector celebrating its ninth edition under the slogan ‘Feel the digital heartbeat’. The event will take place on June 24 and 25.
Around 900 attendees are expected, along with over 60 speakers, including prominent figures in national and European digital policy, and executives from major technology companies. King Felipe VI holds the honorary presidency of the congress.
Confirmed institutional participants include the Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, Óscar López, the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, María González Veracruz, and the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, Antonio Hernando. Representatives from the European Commission and leaders from companies such as Telefónica, MasOrange, Vodafone, Digi, Ericsson, Huawei, and Nokia, as well as organizations like CEOE and CNMC, will also be present.
The congress will focus on the main challenges of digital transformation in the continent, covering topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the development of digital infrastructures, attracting technological talent, and European digital sovereignty.
During the presentation, the Director General of DigitalES, Miguel Sánchez Galindo, highlighted Spain's progress in AI regulation, advancements in quantum technology strategies, and the country's ability to attract investment in digital infrastructures. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the sustainability of investments in digital networks and strengthening European technological autonomy in critical areas like semiconductors, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
One of the notable introductions will be the presentation of ‘DigitalES Quantum’, an initiative with a budget of 7.5 million euros aimed at applying quantum computing to real-world applications in sectors such as health, energy, and telecommunications.
