The first edition of LibroMad, held in the Community of Madrid from April 23 to 26, has concluded with remarkable success, attracting over 40,000 attendees and offering an extensive cultural program.

The event, which coincided with Book Day, took place under the theme 'The Confines of Books'. It featured the participation of 145 bookstores and 120 libraries spread across more than a hundred municipalities in the region, along with nearly 700 authors and artists.
The LibroMad program included over 450 activities, covering workshops, readings, puppet shows, performing arts, book presentations, and concerts. These initiatives aimed to strengthen the role of writers, bookstores, and libraries in the Community of Madrid.
Various bookstores contributed with their own proposals. For example, Arrebato Libros and La Abubilla organized concerts, while Librería Fábula offered storytelling sessions and talks. These activities had a notable presence in the southern part of the region.
The festival's closing ceremony took place on Sunday in Madrid's Plaza de España, with a collective reading accompanied by a popular hot chocolate event. Afterwards, a literary gathering was held with the participation of Blanca Lacasa, María Hesse, Lorenzo Silva, and Manuel Vilas, moderated by Marta Fernández, where they reflected on the influence of books.
The closing also included concerts and the literary performance 'Celeste Baker' by Russian Red, maintaining cultural activity in the square. The day concluded with a small book fair.
