The bakery Leon The Baker has introduced a new functional loaf that combines turmeric and black pepper, enhancing the absorption of their health-beneficial compounds.

Turmeric, recognized for its potent natural anti-inflammatory properties, has low bioavailability on its own. However, piperine, found in black pepper, can increase its absorption by up to 2,000%. Based on this scientific evidence, Leon The Baker, a bakery known for its "FREE FROM" and organic options, has developed its new functional loaf.
This combination aims to combat chronic inflammation, alleviate joint pain without the gastric side effects of conventional anti-inflammatories, and detoxify the liver by stimulating bile production. Furthermore, its ability to strengthen defenses is highlighted due to its antioxidant action and vitamin and mineral content.
The loaf promises stable energy and prolonged satiety, regulating blood sugar thanks to its high fiber and protein content, differentiating it from conventional white bread. It is crafted artisanally, gluten-free, preservative-free, and made with exclusively natural ingredients, making it suitable for celiacs.
Leon The Baker, founded in London in 2014 and established in Madrid since 2016, specializes in gluten-free and lactose-free breads. They use their own sourdough starter, allergen-free flours (many organic), and long fermentation processes to ensure flavor and digestibility. Currently, the brand has over 200 points of sale in Spain, own stores in Madrid, and a presence in El Corte Inglés, in addition to its online platform and app.
