Lay's, the official potato chip sponsor of the FIFA World Cup, turned Madrid's Palacio de Vistalegre into a hub for football and entertainment last Monday. The event drew an estimated 5,000 attendees to watch Spain's match against Cape Verde.
The event featured former footballer David Villa as the special host, alongside prominent national content creators such as DjMariio, Noe9977, Ubietoo, Nil Ojeda, and Javi Hoyos. For over three hours, attendees enjoyed activations, prize draws, and the collective energy, experiencing the pre-match, match, and post-match in a shared atmosphere.
A highlight of the day was the creation of Spain's longest sofa for watching football, from which around 300 fans shared the excitement of Spain's debut alongside David Villa and the content creators. This initiative, part of the global campaign ‘No Lay’s, No Game’, aims to reinforce Lay's role in creating memorable collective experiences centered around football.
During halftime, Nil Ojeda tossed merchandise from the exclusive Lay’s x Adidas collection to an attendee. The evening concluded with David Villa kicking balls into the crowd, marking the end of a 'Watch Party' that united thousands of fans through their passion for football and Lay's celebratory spirit.
The initiative also coincides with the Spanish launch of a limited edition featuring Lay's, Doritos, and Ruffles with five flavors inspired by the culinary cultures of Argentina, Mexico, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Spain.
