In collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer, 'Chaos in the Laboratory' will be presented, a team game where participants must reorder cancer-related scientific concepts. The Faculty of Veterinary Science will offer 'Food and Cancer: Identifying Hidden Dangers on Your Plate', an interactive activity to recognize food risks.
The Faculty of Pharmacy proposes 'Escape Room: Discovering Nature's Secrets Against Cancer', focusing on the role of medicinal plants, and 'Cancer Gymkhana', a journey through pharmacological research to create medicines.
From the Faculty of Biological Sciences, a walk will be offered commenting on plants with anticancer potential in 'Medicinal Plants in the Fight Against Cancer: Recognition and Identification'.
In the afternoon, the Faculty of Medicine will organize two workshops: 'Could a Microparticle Kill a Cancer Cell?', about silicon microparticles, and 'Is a World Immune to Cancer Possible?', focusing on prevention and healthy lifestyle habits.
The Faculty of Chemical Sciences will present 'Quantum from Top to Bottom: From Atoms and Photons to Cancer Therapies', showing how quantum chemistry is revolutionizing medicine.
Finally, the Faculty of Biological Sciences will offer the afternoon workshop 'Molecular Biologist for a Day: PCR Detection of Cancer Risk', where participants will learn to perform a PCR to identify mutations related to breast cancer.
The European Researchers' Night is a scientific outreach event held simultaneously in over 350 European cities, coordinated in Madrid by the Foundation for Knowledge madri+d. The UCM organizes this activity through its Unit of Scientific and Innovation Culture (UCC+I), with funding from the FECYT.
