The III State Republican March is taking place this Saturday in Madrid under the slogan 'Republic for Peace', starting from Puerta del Sol to express its rejection of war and NATO.

The demonstration, which will begin at the emblematic Puerta del Sol, is scheduled to make a stop in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to stage its opposition to conflicts. Organizers chose this starting point for its symbolic value to Spanish republicanism and its connection to the 15M movement.
The route will continue along Atocha street, concluding in the Reina Sofía square. A new feature this year is a bicycle ride organized by the Ciclorrefugio platform, which will lead the march and open the main itinerary.
The central slogan for this edition, 'a republic for peace,' aims to contrast monarchy with war, according to the organizers. The mobilization has the support of deputies from Podemos and Sumar, who have already publicly backed the initiative.
In addition to denouncing war, the march's manifesto calls for Spain's 'immediate withdrawal' from NATO, arguing that a modern republic should promote coexistence and international cooperation. Representatives from the march and parliamentarians from Sumar and Podemos highlighted the relevance of the republican issue in the current context of global conflicts affecting the working class.
Around a dozen buses are expected to arrive in Madrid from various autonomous communities, including Andalusia, Valencian Community, Asturias, La Rioja, and Basque Country. A representative of the Republican March, Elena Ollero, stated that people will come from all territories to advocate for the republic and denounce an institution they consider archaic and based on privilege, defending the concept of citizenship with rights.
