The Municipal Transport Company of Madrid has presented the innovations of its future cable car cabin at the Global Mobility Call, a project aiming to transform this city icon with advanced technology and sustainability.

The Municipal Transport Company of Madrid (EMT Madrid) has inaugurated its stand at the fourth edition of the Global Mobility Call, an international forum held at IFEMA Madrid from June 9 to 11. The event gathers key players in sustainable urban mobility to discuss sector challenges.
The delegate for Urbanism, Environment, and Mobility, Borja Carabante, visited the EMT stand, a 100 m² exhibition space where the cabin of the future Madrid Cable Car was unveiled. Through virtual reality, attendees can experience the views of the route 40 meters above Casa de Campo.
This large-scale project represents a profound technological and architectural transformation of the cable car, which will be innovative, sustainable, and accessible at its stations in Pintor Rosales and Casa de Campo. The new cabin will offer an inclusive panoramic experience, reinforcing Madrid's image as a tourist destination.
The infrastructure will incorporate state-of-the-art technology, including intelligent sensors for active safety, artificial intelligence for flow analysis and alerts, and full connectivity for real-time service information. The design will also optimize energy management and reduce emissions.
Borja Carabante will participate in the forum on Thursday to address the digital transformation of cities, new trends in sustainable transport, and Madrid's strategies for managing large infrastructures and future mobility challenges.
The Global Mobility Call aims to foster collaboration and generate public-private partnerships. In its 2024 edition, it brought together over 8,000 professionals and 450 opinion leaders in 115 debate panels, promoting the challenges of decarbonization in transport.
