The Plaza de Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares will transform this Sunday into a showcase for Madrid's agri-food products with the 14th edition of ‘La Despensa de Madrid’.

The traveling market, promoted by the Community of Madrid in collaboration with the Alcalá City Council, aims to promote the variety and quality of local products. After stops in Daganzo de Arriba and Leganés, the initiative arrives in Alcalá de Henares this weekend.
With 20 outdoor tents open from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, visitors can directly purchase a wide range of Madrid products, including olive oil, olives, smoked goods, fresh meat, beer, chocolate, preserves, cured meats, pastries, fruits, vegetables, nuts, legumes, liquors, honey, bread, baked goods, artisan cheeses, vermouth, and wines.
This edition features 50 agri-food companies, 24 of which hold the M Producto Certificado seal, a quality mark created by the Community of Madrid in 2014. Currently, nearly 500 companies and over 4,000 products bear this brand, identifying local, healthy, and flavorful foods.
Producers linked to Alcalá de Henares, such as Bodegas Viña Bardela and Nutrivida Miel, along with Licores Trampero, are highlighted. Organic production will also be featured with nine businesses recognized by the Committee of Organic Agriculture of the Community of Madrid (CAEM).
Regional quality figures such as the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Vinos de Madrid and Aceite de Madrid, the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Carne de la Sierra de Guadarrama, the PGI Anís de Chinchón, and the Quality Designation Aceitunas de Campo Real will also be present.
The organization emphasizes that consuming local products stimulates the regional economy and supports small producers and agri-food businesses. ‘La Despensa de Madrid’ will tour 19 municipalities this year, concluding in Colmenar Viejo in October. Upcoming dates include Sevilla la Nueva and Pozuelo de Alarcón in May, with further stops in June, September, and October.
