The Madrid Regional Transport Consortium has expanded its Green Routes program with three new itineraries in Bustarviejo and Manzanares El Real, accessible via interurban bus lines.

This initiative aims to promote responsible tourism and the enjoyment of the region's natural heritage. The new routes feature direct connections from the Plaza de Castilla interchange, making them easily accessible for hikers without the need for a private vehicle.
Highlights include a 25.6-kilometer trail following the historic Cañada Real Segoviana, passing through areas such as the Hoya de San Blas and the surroundings of the Santillana reservoir. This route can be completed in stages thanks to stops in towns like Miraflores de la Sierra or Soto del Real.
The program also features the ascent to Pico Mondalindo, a 12-kilometer circular route through old mining paths, and the La Vuelta al Yelmo Green Route in La Pedriza del Manzanares, which circles the iconic 1,717-meter granite formation.
With these additions, the network now totals 55 available routes. Users can find maps, technical data sheets, and bus line details on the official website of the Madrid Regional Transport Consortium.
