The Community of Madrid, in collaboration with the Association of Official Tourism Guides (APIT), is launching a program of 470 guided tours starting June 5th to showcase the region's heritage.

The ambitious calendar includes tours of the capital and various Madrid municipalities, combining local knowledge with gastronomic experiences. Venues range from icons like Madrid Río, Casa de Campo, and El Retiro, to emblematic destinations such as the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Aranjuez, and Navalcarnero, aiming to explore history and local identity dynamically.
APIT highlights the "thematic breadth" and "quality of the tours," offering a "more refined, humanist, and complete" view of Madrid. New interpretations of heritage, itineraries linked to literature, art, and daily life, as well as less conventional spaces, have been incorporated, according to APIT Madrid president Jesús Manuel Morón Nadador.
Among the capital's routes is ‘Madrid Río: art, nature, and tradition along the Manzanares,’ which combines heritage, green spaces, and surprising panoramic views, including the Hermitage of San Antonio de la Florida with frescoes by Goya, and the historic Bridge of Segovia.
Another offering is ‘El Retiro. Garden of Kings, Open-Air Museum,’ inviting a rediscovery of the park through Cuesta de Moyano, the Fallen Angel, the Crystal Palace, and the Great Pond.
The summer program also merges heritage and gastronomy with tours like ‘Madrid with a taste of history: taverns and century-old shops,’ culminating at the Luis Candelas Caves, or ‘Legends and crimes of old Madrid,’ a night route exploring the capital's mysterious side.
Outside the capital, ‘The Royal Town of Navalcarnero, land of wines,’ will explore its historic center, hand-dug wine cellars, and include a tasting of wines from the D.O. Vinos de Madrid.
The tours, available in Spanish and English, will be in groups of up to 20 people. Madrid capital tours will last two hours and cost 10 euros, while municipal tours will cost 20 euros (excluding travel) and last three hours.
Interested individuals can book through the APIT website. The Community of Madrid's Tourism Center, located at Puerta del Sol, will provide further advice.
