The sporting event, scheduled between 9:00 AM and 12:30 PM, will cover various points in the districts of Chamartín, Chamberí, Salamanca, Centro, and Moncloa-Aravaca. In response, the Madrid City Council has implemented a special mobility plan, including traffic closures, bus route diversions, and increased services for Metro and Cercanías.
Street closures will begin at 8:30 AM. However, on the Paseo de la Castellana, the central lane between Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz and Raimundo Fernández Villaverde will be inoperative from 5:00 AM due to setup and dismantling operations for the starting line. The race route will run along the Paseo de la Castellana and Paseo de Camoens, passing through major arteries such as Recoletos, Cibeles, Gran Vía, Plaza España, and Princesa.
Traffic is expected to be progressively restored, with most roads reopening from 11:15 AM, except for the Castellana area, which will remain affected until 12:00 PM due to dismantling tasks. The City Council advises avoiding private vehicles in the city center and using public transport for short journeys, suggesting the M-30 and M-40 as alternative routes for longer trips.
The mobility plan includes reinforced Metro de Madrid services between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM on lines 6, 7, and 8 to facilitate participants' travel to the starting point, with Nuevos Ministerios and Gregorio Marañón being the closest stations. For the finish line, the nearest stations are Moncloa and Argüelles. Additionally, the race will cause diversions for up to 45 bus lines, including 1, 2, 3, 27, 45, C1, and C2.
This year's edition has sold out all 38,000 bibs, exceeding 2025's numbers by 2,000 and making it the most attended in the event's 22-year history. Participation is exclusively open to women over 8 years old, with a maximum time of 90 minutes to complete the 6.5-kilometer course.
Beyond its athletic aspect, the Women's Race maintains its charitable and social awareness character. Since 2004, over 1.6 million women have participated in this circuit, considered Europe's largest female sporting event, which promotes the fight against cancer, prevention, and female sports participation, as well as initiatives against gender violence and social inequalities. The organization plans to donate 100,000 euros to the Spanish Association Against Cancer this year, aiming to reach 200,000 euros in solidarity contributions across all its projects.
The day will conclude with a fitness and aerobics festival lasting over an hour at Paseo de Camoens, featuring musical performances for participants and attendees. Scheduled acts include singer Alejo Stivel, who will perform hits from the band Tequila, and Team D’Luxe, transforming the event into a festive and sporting celebration.
