The Teatro de La Abadía in Madrid will host a two-play cycle during April, featuring 'King Kong Theory' and 'Wild Bitch', which delve into feminism, patriarchy, and power dynamics.

The Sala José Luis Alonso at the Teatro de La Abadía will be the venue for this diptych, which aims to explore structures of oppression and power relations. The first of the proposals, 'King Kong Theory', will be performed from April 15 to 19.
This theatrical adaptation, created by M. Àngels Cabré from Virginie Despentes' essay and translated by Paul B. Preciado, is a production by the Catalan company La Virgueria. The play examines the violence of power, exploitation, and the repression of desire, challenging 'well-meaning culture' and addressing taboo subjects. The production features Maria Pau Pigem and is directed by Isis Martín, and will include parallel activities such as a meeting with the audience after the performance on April 16 and a morning session with a discussion on April 17.

"As a migrant woman, descendant of Europeans and the echo of an exterminated and silenced indigenous population, I write the desperate story of a mestiza who takes revenge, full of questions about what they chose to tell us and what they kept silent."

Lucía Trentini · Creator of 'Wild Bitch'
Subsequently, from April 22 to 26, the same venue will host 'Wild Bitch', a one-woman show written, directed, and performed by Uruguayan creator Lucía Trentini. This piece, premiering in Spain, combines live music, protest, activism, and incisive humor, presenting itself as 'a cry of rebellion'. The play questions historical narratives and dominant discourses, starting from the maternal transmission of indigenous heritage. Trentini, recognized with the National Theater Award in Uruguay, has developed a notable multidisciplinary career. A meeting with the audience will also take place after the performance on April 23.
