The Civil Guard has dismantled a network dedicated to jewelry theft in homes in the northwest area of the Community of Madrid, leading to the arrest of nine individuals, primarily domestic workers, who exploited the trust of their victims.

The investigation, which spanned several months, has clarified multiple thefts. The perpetrators leveraged the relationship of trust established with homeowners to commit the robberies, as reported by the Armed Institute.
The victims were predominantly elderly individuals living alone, a circumstance that facilitated the commission of the crimes. The total estimated value of the stolen jewelry exceeds 500,000 euros.
Some of the stolen items were subsequently sold at gold buying and selling establishments, where the detainees obtained profits amounting to over 50,000 euros. In one specific instance, one of the arrested individuals pawned jewelry worth 30,000 euros, although its actual value surpassed 200,000 euros.
As part of the operation, the Civil Guard successfully recovered various pieces of jewelry, which have since been returned to their rightful owners.
