Teresa Peramato, the State Attorney General, presided over the swearing-in of Isabel Martín as the new Superior Prosecutor of the Community of Madrid, highlighting the institution's significance.

The headquarters of the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid hosted the official ceremony where Isabel Martín assumed responsibility as the new Superior Prosecutor of the Community of Madrid. The event was presided over by the State Attorney General, Teresa Peramato, who stressed the need for the Madrid Prosecutor's Office to consolidate itself as a benchmark, promoting internal cohesion, modernization, and efficiency.
The ceremony was attended by various personalities from the fiscal field, as well as civil, military, and judicial authorities, including the president of the TSJ of Madrid, Celso Rodríguez. Peramato praised Martín's professional career, highlighting her commitment and experience in different areas of responsibility. She noted that leading the Prosecutor's Office of the Community of Madrid demands great technical preparation, leadership, and the ability to generate institutional trust.
The Attorney General also acknowledged the work of the previous Superior Prosecutor, Almudena Lastra, and highlighted Martín's contribution to training within the Public Prosecutor's Office, a crucial aspect for the institution's autonomy.

The institution has the mission to guarantee legality, protect citizens' rights, and safeguard the general interest with independence and objectivity.

For her part, the new Superior Prosecutor thanked them for the appointment and defended the strength of the Public Prosecutor's Office, based on the preparation of its members, their adaptability, and a professional culture rooted in ethics, excellence, and public service. Martín López stated that the Madrid Prosecutor's Office should aspire to be a benchmark and advocated for strengthening collaboration with other legal operators and State Security Forces and Corps, promoting joint work based on unity and legal rigor.
Isabel Martín López, a prosecutor since 2007, began her career in Melilla, where she held positions of responsibility in the juvenile prosecutor's office and eventually became head of the city's Prosecutor's Office. Later, she worked in the Technical Secretariat of the State Attorney General's Office, focusing on training for the fiscal career.
