The visit of the regional president to Parla for the official inauguration of the Parla Este Health Center and a new Mental Health resource has reignited the conflict between the Community of Madrid and the City Council, following the mayor's criticism regarding the lack of prior notification.

The health facility, which had already begun operations on February 3, 2026, represents a regional investment of 12.3 million euros. This center provides coverage to the Parla Este neighborhood and is linked to a Mental Health complex associated with the Infanta Cristina University Hospital.

"It seems that today the president visits our city to officially inaugurate the health center after 20 years. She does so secretly and without prior notice to the mayor, representative of all Parla residents, which seems to me an institutional disloyalty and a lack of respect, but I wholeheartedly welcome her."

Ramón Jurado · Mayor of Parla
The Community of Madrid had announced the opening of these two new health resources on Planeta Venus Street at the end of January. The Parla Este Health Center features five Family Medicine consultations, seven Nursing consultations (including one pediatric), and three Pediatric consultations, in addition to extraction areas, emergency services, and administrative support. This facility serves over 16,000 residents, including approximately 4,200 minors.
Additionally, a new Mental Health complex was launched with differentiated spaces for adult and child-youth care, as part of the regional health infrastructure plan. With this opening, the municipality now has five Primary Care facilities, joining those already existing in Las Américas, San Blas, Pintores, and Isabel II.
Mayor Jurado took the opportunity to request a meeting with the Madrid president to address the impact of the future arrival of an AVE station in Parla, announced by Minister Óscar Puente. This request comes despite the fact that both held an institutional meeting at the Real Casa de Correos on April 15, 2024, where, according to the Community of Madrid, joint investments and projects for the municipality were discussed.
