The visual proposal, created by illustrator Miguel Pang, depicts a collective scene where numerous characters are shown reading in unconventional postures around a pine tree, a significant feature of the natural space that traditionally hosts the booksellers' stalls.
The Fair's director, Eva Orúe, and Miguel Pang himself participated in the poster's presentation at the Instituto Cervantes. During the event, Pang explained that the idea emerged spontaneously during his creative process, as he noticed a recurring pattern of reader figures in unusual situations within his sketches. This accumulation led to a dynamic composition, conceived to convey lightness and fun.
“"It's pure fair."
From the organization, Orúe emphasized the coherence between the poster and this edition's focus, highlighting the importance of humor as a tool for facing daily life, as well as reading's role in developing critical thinking. In her opinion, the image reflects the spirit of the Fair with a scene full of color and diverse characters that invite identification with different ways of reading.
As in previous years, the poster will feature an adapted version for visually impaired individuals, thanks to the collaboration of ONCE, which has developed an accessible tactile edition. Additionally, the illustration will be featured on the lottery ticket that this organization will draw on June 13, further extending the event's reach nationwide.
Miguel Pang, of Cambodian and Chinese descent, lives in Barcelona and has a consolidated career in illustration. His style is characterized by narrative storytelling and expressive use of color, having received various international awards and collaborated with leading media and institutions. He also combines his professional activity with teaching.
