These prestigious awards, granted by Gaceta Médica, highlight the commitment and quality of care provided by Madrid's healthcare centers. The Deputy Minister of Health, Laura Gutiérrez, presided over the awards ceremony at the Gregorio Marañón Mother and Child Complex in the capital.
Among the awardees, the Gregorio Marañón Hospital received four distinctions, including an Honorable Mention. The Jiménez Díaz Foundation, located in Madrid, secured three awards, while the Infanta Elena Hospital in Valdemoro was recognized with two awards, one of which was also an Honorable Mention.
Other hospitals that received individual awards include those in Fuenlabrada, Henares in Coslada, La Paz and La Princesa in Madrid, and Villalba. These recognitions underscore the robustness of the region's public healthcare system.
“"The fact that, year after year, so many centers in our public healthcare system are among the best in Spain is not an isolated event. It is an indicator of a system that works because there is a critical mass of professionals committed to continuous improvement, who believe in what they do."
These accolades add to other international recognitions, such as those from the American magazine Newsweek, which included seven Madrid hospitals among the 250 best in the world, and Forbes magazine, which placed six of them among the ten best in Spain.
