Four individuals were arrested in Madrid's Hortaleza district after being caught planning a violent robbery while impersonating National Police officers, with a firearm and police equipment seized.

Officers from the National Police have arrested four men in Madrid, accused of public function usurpation, attempted violent robbery, and belonging to a criminal group. The suspects were intercepted in the Hortaleza district as they finalized plans for a potential assault, using the identity of police officers.
The events unfolded on the morning of March 24, when a call to the CIMACC 091 control room reported individuals in a vehicle manipulating what appeared to be a firearm. Upon arrival, officers identified the four men and, after searching their car, found a balaclava, black neck gaiters, notes related to drug transactions, and over 900 euros in cash.
Subsequently, a search of the surrounding area led to the discovery of a bag hidden in a garden area behind some bushes. Inside, police found a firearm and a flashing light, similar to those used by police vehicles. Forensic police officers attended the scene to conduct the relevant ocular inspection. The four arrested individuals were subsequently handed over to judicial authorities.
