The National Police have arrested four men in Madrid's Hortaleza district, who were planning a violent robbery by impersonating officers, carrying a police light and weapons, following a citizen alert on March 24.

The events unfolded on the morning of March 24, when a call to CIMACC 091 reported individuals in a vehicle manipulating what appeared to be a firearm. Upon arrival, National Police officers identified the four men.
During the vehicle inspection, police found a balaclava, dark clothing to conceal faces, notes related to drug transactions, and over 900 euros in cash. These items suggested preparation for illicit activities.
Subsequently, during a sweep of the area, officers located a bag hidden behind bushes in a garden area. The bag contained a firearm and a police-style rotating light, presumably used to impersonate law enforcement.
The four suspects were arrested for alleged crimes of usurpation of public functions, attempted violent robbery, and criminal group membership. Following their arrest, they were handed over to judicial authorities for further legal proceedings.
