The incident occurred around 12:10 PM in the Plaza de la Constitución. At the time of the fire, several workers were present in the facilities and on one of the building's floors, which is already being used as municipal offices. Flames spread across the exterior facade cladding.
Four units from the Community of Madrid Fire Department responded to contain the blaze and prevent its spread. Although the fire's advance was controlled, it affected the interior of the first floor of the building, which is still under construction. The fire was eventually extinguished.
As a precautionary measure, both construction workers and municipal employees present on the floor already designated for offices were evacuated. Paramedics from Summa 112 attended to the two individuals affected by smoke inhalation.
One of the individuals received treatment and was released at the scene, while a 57-year-old man was transferred to the Hospital de Arganda del Rey for medical evaluation.
