The Electoral Board of Real Madrid has called presidential elections for Sunday, June 7, marking the first electoral contest with multiple candidates in 20 years.

The Electoral Board of Real Madrid has set Sunday, June 7, as the date for the elections for the club's presidency and Board of Directors. These elections, the first in two decades with more than one contender, will see Florentino Pérez and Enrique Riquelme compete for the leadership of the entity for the next four years.
The electoral body, chaired by José Manuel de Carlos, proclaimed both the candidacy led by Florentino Pérez, club member number 1,484, and the one headed by businessman Enrique Riquelme, member number 41,736, as valid this Tuesday.
Voting will take place uninterruptedly between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM at the Basketball Pavilion of Ciudad Real Madrid, located in Valdebebas. Unlike previous processes, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium will not be the venue due to a planned event by Pope Leo XIV.
This marks the first time in 20 years that the white club will hold elections with more than one candidate. In the calls for 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021, and 2025, Florentino Pérez was the sole candidate. The last time Real Madrid members cast their votes in a presidential election was in the summer of 2006, following Florentino Pérez's resignation, when Ramón Calderón defeated other candidates.
