This historic train aims to bring travelers closer to one of Europe's most significant Renaissance monumental complexes. During the journey, passengers will enjoy historical explanations and reenactments that complement guided tours. These tours allow for the exploration of the Royal Monastery, the town's historic center, and other sites linked to the monarch's legacy.
The initiative is part of the Community of Madrid's offering of tourist trains, which also includes the Cervantes Train, the Strawberry Train, and the Sierra de Guadarrama Train. These routes are designed to discover World Heritage sites in the region, coinciding with the start of the autumn season.
The official VisitMadrid website compiles information on these routes, which seek to make the journey an experience in itself and offer a different perspective on Madrid's historical, natural, and cultural heritage.
Other offerings include the Cervantes Train, departing on September 19 to explore Alcalá de Henares, the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes. Onboard, travelers interact with characters from Cervantes' works before a guided tour of the historic city. The Strawberry Train, starting its route on October 3, revives the historic journey between Madrid and Aranjuez, featuring strawberry tastings and a special program in a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The offer is completed by the Sierra de Guadarrama Train, ideal for exploring natural landscapes and accessing the National Park, and the Wine Routes by Cercanías, which combine train journeys with winery visits and guided tastings.
These proposals are designed for enjoying the region at a leisurely pace, recapturing the charm of railway journeys that have contributed to Madrid's transformation and connected its emblematic sites with generations of travelers.
The regional government promotes the Historic Trains product, supported by the Spanish Railways Foundation, as a way to attract visitors, foster quality tourism, and enhance these cultural destinations.
