The operation was initiated following a communication from French customs authorities, who alerted about two individuals traveling from Lima with final destination Madrid, after a layover in Paris. During their stay in France, local authorities detected a powdery substance in their luggage, which tested positive for cocaine.
Based on this information, Spanish agents deployed a joint operation involving the Customs Surveillance Service and the Madrid Fiscal and Border Unit. The action was carried out as a controlled delivery, with the corresponding judicial authorization.
The operation concluded with the arrest of the two individuals and the seizure of over 14 kilos of the narcotic substance. The detainees have been handed over to the competent judicial authority.
The high level of coordination between French and Spanish customs authorities, as well as the effective cooperation between the Customs Surveillance Service and the Civil Guard itself, demonstrate the effectiveness of these joint operations.
